Expand your knowledge on a conscious way of living

Did you know that buying single bananas at the store can save the lives of so many fruits from ending up in landfills? On Impact Day we share such and many more environmental tips. In addition, you’ll also learn specific techniques on how to take care of yourself while making the world a better place.
Enjoy the event without worriyng about your footprint

Don’t worry – we say “no” to disposable dishes, gifts and many other things. For example our goal is to save 95% of food waste. Several parties are involved in organizing Impact Day with whom we strive to have the smallest possible footprint of our activities.

Jaan Aru
University of Tartu, Associate Professor

Jaan Aru is an associate professor at the University of Tartu working on neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and the effect of technology on the human mind. He has published over 50 international scientific articles and two national bestsellers about the brain and creativity. For his efforts in popularizing science, he has received the national science communication prize in Estonia, twice. In 2019 he received the Young Scientist Prize from the President of Estonia.

Clover Hogan is a climate activist and the founder of Force of Nature – the youth non-profit mobilising mindsets for climate action. She has worked alongside the world’s leading authorities on sustainability, consulted within the boardrooms of Fortune 50 companies, and counselled heads of state. Her TED talk, ‘What to do when climate change feels unstoppable’, has been viewed 2 million times.

UNEP International Resource Panel, Co-Chair

Dr Janez Potočnik is an economist graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He served as Director of the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development in Ljubljana. He was appointed Head of Negotiating Team for Accession of Slovenia to the EU and served as Minister responsible for European Affairs. In 2004 he joined the European Commission as Commissioner responsible for Science and Research. In 2010 he became Commissioner for Environment. After the mandate he was appointed as a Co-Chair of UNEP Environment International Resource Panel. He is also Partner at SYSTEMIQ.
