Impact Day 2025 reflects a fundamental shift in how sustainability is perceived and implemented: what was once treated as a separate initiative has now become an integral part of business operations and daily life – with growing recognition of its critical role in security and resilience.

This year’s guiding theme is “Building a Bold, Self-sufficient Europe!”, focusing on how people, businesses, and organizations can find opportunities in times of crisis and shape the future with greater confidence and independence. Over one hundred international experts and practitioners will appear on three stages, with over 2000 participants from 30 countries attending.

“For us, it’s always been about more than one event. It’s about the bigger picture: what kind of Estonia – what kind of world – are we building? How can we run businesses that are not just profitable but also responsible, efficient, and built to last?” said Erkki Kubber, the founder and main organizer of Impact Day.

One of the most awaited this year’s speakers, world-renowned author and thought leader Seth Godin said the following: “We can’t change systems alone – we need small groups making small, contagious changes.” Rather than trying to create massive individual impact, Godin advocates for organizing small groups (15-30 people) to make specific, repeatable changes that can spread. His examples include initiatives like Meatless Monday at schools or banning gas-powered leaf blowers in a town.

Kädi Ristkok, the Head of the Estonian Cleantech Association, highlighted that cleantech isn’t only about the environment. It’s about sovereignty and resilience. “Energy independence, supply chain security, and industrial competitiveness all depend on how quickly we can adopt and scale clean technologies. This isn’t just a climate conversation — it’s about Europe’s place in the world,” she added.

Among others, Impact Day also featured MIT scientist Gregory Norris, who works on health and net-positive business solutions, “Blue Economy” pioneer and economist Gunter Pauli, climate activist and youth inspirator Clover Hogan, and leaders from major companies SEB, Swedbank, Lidl, and Elisa in their respective fields. Estonian speakers included Brett Lemsalu, Egle Raadik, Andrus Treier, Hendrik Johannes Terras, and many others.

Impact Day brought together green innovation, social responsibility, and sustainable solutions to drive meaningful change. The event was co-funded by the European Union, Visit Estonia, Tallinn City, the European Social Innovation Alliance, and Social Innovation Initiative.
